MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

DEFENDED CIVIL CASES The fortnightly sitting of the Masterron was held yes terday, Mr J. Miller iS.M. presiding. In the case in which Frank McKellar, licensee of the Blairio-gie Hotel, proceeded against John Bryan for the recovery of £l3 19s, Mr C. C. Marsack appeared .for plaintiff and Mr R. B. Bunridge for defendant. Outlining plaintiff ’s ease, Mr Marsack said the claim was for board, liquor and money advanced. Books and other como-bora-ti ve evidence which had not been pfroduced at the hearing of a previous claim were now available. The case came very largely to a question of credibility. The plain riff was heard and crossexamined at length. Judgment wais given for plaintiff, with costs £4 10s>. In a defended case in which Meat and Wool Ltd. claimed from F. Price a sum of £2O alleged to be due in connection with an advertising contract entered into between the company and defencanc. Mr C. C. Miarsaek appeared for defendant and Mr F. B. Ainyon for plaintiffs. Judgment was given for plaintiffs, with costs. JUDGMENT SUMMONS CASES In judgment summonses no order was made in the ease of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board v R. H. Robinson; claim £3 17s Bd. Alex Hausmann was ordered to pay Herbert John Wakeman the sum of £4 7s 7d forthwith, indefault five days’ imprisonment. No .-rder was made in the case of John Pomeroy v W. Rimene, claim £23 5s 3d.
