Forbes, Minister of Agriculture, stated that it was the Government's intention to extend the guarantee on the exportation o.t eggs to £lO,OOO. Last year the amount of th • guarantee was £4OOO. Mr Forbes said that it was not a satisfactory business to supply a market with the aid of a Government guarantee. However, the industry was at present in its initial stages* and it was the Government’s intention to con-, •inue wi*h a t-übsidy for th? current year, when the export would probably be greater, owing to the increased production.
