ANNUAL MEETING OF OLD , BOYS CLUB. ; THREE TEAMS TO BE ENTERED ; FOR COMPETITIONS. I The annual meeting of the Old Boys’ r Football Club was held last night. The ’ annual report showed that the club . had made considerable progress since ( its inception three years ago. The club j came into being as a junior team, and played for one year as juniors in the , competitions. In that year it won thel » junior championship, and had one half I [ of its team selected for the Wairarapa . junior representative team. For a light [ team playing senior for the first time . last year, they gave a good account ofl j themselves, and were runners-up in the' . senior championship. The junior team ( was handicapped by a shortage of players, but they carried on, fulfilling their engagements and in no way being discouraged by the defeats they suffered through doing so. During the season the seniors were represented in the Wairarapa representative team by Cooke, Cormack, Le Quesne, Yates, Falconer, McCalmont, and the juniors by Ball, Holmwood, Riddle, Buckley and. McKay, while Cooke played for the - New Zealand team. The balance sheet ■ showed the club to be in a financial I position. The following officers were elected ' for the ensuing year:—Patron, Dr. G. J H. Uttley; president, Mr. E. L. Holm-J wood; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. G.' 4 Lawson, G. Wilson, A. H. Daniell, D. 4 Thompson, J. W. Falloon, Harold i Evans, P. Cooper, N. McKay; club cap - tain, Mr. J. W. Bird; secretary and a treasurer, Mr. A. Owen Jones; commit ! tee, Messrs. A. E. Cooke, Fraser-Smith, i J. Le XJuesne, G. McAllister and G.-j Chesterman; delegates to Wairarapa i Rugby Union, Messrs. D. Edwards, Owen Jones and E. L. Holmwood; sen- 1 , ior coach, Mr. L. T. Daniell; junior!*, coach, Mr. E. J. Renner.
Eighteen new members were elected. It was decided to enter teams in the senior, junior and third grade competitions. MASTERTON CLUB. SENIOR TEAM ASSURED. At a meeting of the players and sup porters of the Masterton Football Club] last night, it was stated that the chib| had twenty senior players in view, and the entry of a senior team in the Wai- ( rarapa competition appeared to be assured.
