Labour has definitely won six seats in the House of Representatives and they have an excellent chance of winning five more, which will bring their strength to thirtyfour in a House of 75. The seats won include three in New South Wales, one in Victoria by default owing to the Government candidate failing to nominate on time, one in South Australia and one in Queensland. The counting of primary votes still continues. The distribution of preferences begins at the end of the week, when the doubtful contests will be decided, likewise the fate of the Ministerial candidates for the Senate tralian Press Association.)
