A London cablegram reports the death of Mr. Louis Tracey, the wellknown journalist and author. Mr and 'Mrs A. C. Major, Upper Plain, are leaving to-day for Hawke’s Bay, where they will spend a few days. Mr C. G. Finlayson, the well-known cricketer, of Petone, has been transferred to the Otahuhu railway workshops. He left for Auckland rn Saturday. Mr L. A. C. Warner, of the Mart inborough District High School, who has been granted six weeks’ leave of absence on account of ill-health, has gone to Nelson.
