BUILDING SOCIETY.

WORKERS’ MUTUAL BENEFIT. DIRECTOR'S MEET. A meeting of directors of the Workers’ Mutual Benefit No. 1 Building Society was held last evening. There were present:—Messrs. R. Krahagen (chairman), G. Hyde, H. O. Fowles, A. W. McKenzie, J. A. Russell, T. S. Cresswell and J. C. Edington. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £1675 2s 4d. Accounts amounting to £4Bl 18s. 6d. were passed. No. 2 SOCIETY. The directors of No. 2 Society also met, there being present:—-Messrs* B. Krahagen (chairman), G. Hyde, H. O. Fowlds, A. W. McKenzie, J. A. Russell, T. S. Cresswell, J. C. Ewington, A. J. Briden and A. H. Eddy. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £3321 12s. 6d. A shareholder was granted permission to transfer the subscriptions on a share to the repayment account. The directors granted a shareholders request to invest £4OO secured by her by ballot. *■ A letter was received from another shareholder asking, the directors to place the amount of £3l 4s. Id. held by the society, to the credit of his repayments, thereby leaving a balance of £2B due to him out of his loan of £Boo.— The request was granted. The profit for the year 1927 was shown at £844 9s. lid., and for 1928, £1036 ss. Id. The accumulated profit to date is £732-6 Bs. 6d.
