WOMAN FOUND DEAD.
TRAGIC OCCURRENCE AT KURIPUNI Gertrude Hilda Roberts, aged thirtyfour years, a married Woman residing with her husband, Mr. Charles Roberts * and two children, at 3 Kuripum Street, Masterton, was found dead yesterday afternoon in the washhouse, with her head in a gas oven and the gas turned on. The discovery was made by the elder of her two children, a girl aged thirteen, at about 3.30 o’clock. She immediately informed the neighbours, who rushed to the scene. Dr. N. H. Prior was summoned, but could only • pronounce life to be extinct. Mr. Roberts, who is a plumber by occupation, left home at 10 ajn. and did not return until 5 p.m. The two Children had lunch at home, but their mother did not have any, as she said she was not feeling well. An inquest will be held at the house at 10.30 o’clock this morning.
