SERIOUS CHARGE.

AGAINST A WELLINGTON CLERGYMAN. ACCIDENT NECESSITATES ADJOURNMENT. When the case against Thomas Fieldon Taylor, a minister, aged 49 years, adjourned last week, on a charge of indecent assault on another male, was called in Wellington yesterday, before Mr. E. Page, S.M., the “Evening Post” reports, Mr. A. Gray, K.C., who appeared on the accused’s behalf, said he regretted that he had received information during the last few minutes that the accused had met with a serious accident. Dr. Brown had been called in at 10.30, when it was found that the accused had fallen and broken his thigh. He had been sent to the Hospital, where he was likely.to remain for three months. He asked for a formal remand until the position was more definite. Mr. Macassey suggested that the patient’s condition bo ascertained after a, fortnight. Mr. Page agreed, and the remand was granted for a fortnight, further application, if necessary, then to be made.
