APPEAL BY KENNEDY & BROWNE DISMISSED. “PLAIN AS A PIKESTAFF.’’ (Received Wednesday, 7.15 p m ) LONDON, May 23. The Court of Criminal Appeal dismissed the appeal of Kennedy and Browne against the death sentences passed upon them for murdering Constable Gutteridge. Lord Hewart said the case was as plain as a pikestaff.— (Australian Press Association.)
