BOARD’S WORK IN APRIL. The more important works carried out by the Alain Highways Board in the Wairarapa during April were:— , Wellington-Napier, via Wairarapa: The 45 chains gap north of the Silverstream railway bridge has been sealed with bitumen. Akatarawa Junction to Summit, Rimutaka: A substantial breakwind has been erected near tho summit. Rimutaka Summit to Featherston borough boundary: The widening of the formation to 24ft. is well advanced and a commencement has been wade with tho deviation between 8 miles 78 chains and 9 miles 7 chains. One mile of bituminous sealing has been completed. Falkner’s Bridge to Eketahuna deviation: 8 chains of form‘’4ft 1 * haS 136611 wiclened to a width of Masterton-Weber, via Alfredton: The erection of the new concrete bridge at 10-mile peg is well in hand. Fekthorston-Martinborough: A portion of this road near Featherston boundary has been finally surfaced with
