EIGHT HOUSES ROBBED.
TINKER CAUGHT IN THE ACT. CHRISTCHURCH, May 22. Henry Patrick Moore, 38, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to eight charges of breaking and entering various houses early this month and committing theft. The police said the accused travelled round as a tinker. He broke leadlights over doors or windows, and then opened the catches. In all he had taken £lOO worth of goods and jewellery from the eight houses. He was caught in the act in a Sydenham house. The accused was committed for sentence. No bail was applied for.—•(P.A.)
