OPTIMISTIC OUTLOOK.
CONDITIONS IMPROVING IN DOMINION Auckland, May 21. An optimistic view concerning the future of the agriculture industry in New Zealand is held by Mr. F. W. Jones, late managing director in NewZealand of the International Harvester Company, who left by the Abrangi yesterday for a world tour. For the past 18 years Mr. Jones has been in close contact with the farming community in the Domiruon. “I find conditions are improving all over the Dominion,” said Mr Jones. “The season has been a splendid one for cropping, while good prices have been realised for wool and lamb.” Mr Jones said that generally speaking farmers were working their land better than they used to. After the boom period, there was a tendency for farmers to become careless, but in recent years they had become more cautious. T ’l feel surq the dull times will soon pass ” added Mr. Jones. “Just before leaving Christchurch I was farewelled by a large gathering of farmers, and there was a most optimistic feeling abroad.” —(P.A.).
