PEACOCK IN THE DOUBLES PARIS, May 21. Tn hard-court tennis championships in the first round of the doubles, Torralva (Chile) and Edouard Borotra (France) defeated J. Peacock (New Zealand) and Guillemot (France), 6/4, 6/4, 6/3. Borotra displayed most brilliant strokes, recalling those of his famous brother.—(Australian Press As-sociation-United Service). HONOUR FOR BROOKES PARIS, May 21. The President of France has created Brookes a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in recognition of his distinguished tennis career and services to the French tennis players when in Australia.—(Australian Press Association.)
