(“The Age” Special.) At the quarterly summoned meeting of Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., Carterton, on Monday evening, one member was initiated into the order, and two proposals accepted. Anderson and M. Hodder; 0.G., Bro. F. Taplin; auditor, Bro. J. Johnston. FEATHERSTON. (“The Age” Special.) The friends of Mrs. J. W. Holland, Featherston, will regret to learn that she has now found it necessary to enter Dr. Sharpe’s private hospital. Mrs. E. F. Trustrum, Featherston, has left on a week’s holiday in Wellington. Mr. J. W. Murray, Featherston, spent the week-end in Shannon. Mr. W. Benton, Featherston, has left for a few days’ holiday in Wanganui. Dr. Price and family left to-day for Auckland, where Dr. Price has taken over a practice. Euchre Evening. The members of the Featherston Croquet Club held the iirst of a series of progressive euchre evenings in the Parish Hall on Monday night. Mesdames J. G. McKenzie "and H. L. Williams acted as hostesses. There was a good attendance. The president (Mrs. J. G. McKenzie) presented the prizes, which went to Mrs. C. Hodder, first; Miss Benton, second; and Mr. Tocker first, and M. Jury second.
