EMPIRE WEEK.
IO LAZ’S LUNCHEON AT THE Y.M.C.A. ARRANGEMENTS FOR TO-MORROW To-day’s event in connection with Empire Shopping Week will be the Optimist Olub luncheon at the Y.M.C.A. Admission is by ticket, and it. is hoped that there will* be a good attcndarce of members of both sexes. An address appropriate to the occasion will be delivered by Mrs 8. Fletcher. All persons possessing flags are requested to fly them to-morrow, Empire Day, so as to give the town, a gala appearance. In the evening, from 7.30 to 8.30, gramophone selections w : ll be given by Arts and Crafts from Messrs C. E. Daniells’ balcony; radio broadcast items will be given at Mr. G. Bilderbeck’s shop, and Panatrope selections at Mr. W. G. Perry’s shop. A programme will be played at the Post Office, from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m., by the Masterton Municipal Band. Shopkeepers are being requested to light their windows in the evenings for a week from to-dav.
