Masterton.—Mr. R. Brown reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.15, falling. Shade temperature: Maximum, 59.2; minimum, 35.2; terrestrial, 29.2; bright sunshine, 2hrs. 12mins. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m yesterday as follows: The anticyclone in the Tasman Sea is losing its intensity and a slight low pressure wave was crossing the Dominion during the afternoon. Tho forecast is for winds between west and south-west, strong in the far south and elsewhere moderate; rough seas on the southern boast line, otherwise smooth to moderate; moderate to strong south-westerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea with moderate seas in the northern portion and rather rough in the southern: isolated showers in the western districts and parts of Otago and Southland hut otherwise mainly fine; cold night temperature with frosts in- the South Island. Lighting-up time—s. 7 p.m.
