TO-DAY’S EVENTS.
FULL AND VARIED PROGRAMME. FIREWORKS DISPLAY. The demonstrations will commence at the Park Oval at 10 oclock this &ornmg, and will continue throughout tho day. In the evening an illuminated parade will be held, in which the visiting firemen will take part. Leaving the Fire Brigade Station at 7.30 o’clock the procession will proceed to the Park. Many brilliantly coloured flares will be lit along the route, giving a very fine effect to the parade. An attractive programme will be supplied at the Park Oval by Mr. C. E. Mills’s entertainers and the Maori Glee Party and poi dancers as a preliminary to the large display of fireworks. Many unique set pieces are included in the programme of pyrotechnics, besides several turns of a mechanical order. Mammoth rock, ets and aerial shells emitting showers of stars and golden rain will alternate with fiery fountains and flights of rising suns. Altogether it is claimed that the display will easily eclipse anything ever fired locally on any previous occasion.
