LIMERICK WINS CANTERBURY CUP. WILD PIGEON BEATS DO REE. DAY FOR OUTSIDERS. The third day of the C.J.C. meeting proved an outing for runners little fancied on the totalisator, and big prices were paid in many events. Limerick proved himself a genuine stayer in defeating Footfall and Star Stranger in the Canterbury Cup, the longest flat race in the Dominion, while Wild Pigeon occasioned surprise by outclassing Doree in the Oaks Stakes. Outsiders in Sir Roy and Great Charter won the two principal handicap events. CHRISTCHURCH, November 9. The third day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting was held to-day.
