Shade temperature: Maximum, 61.2; mininfum, 50.0; terrestrial, 44.2; rainfall, 96 points; bright sunshine, nil. May 29: Barograph, 29.85. Shade temperature: Maximum, 61.2; minimum 42.8; terrestrial, 32.4; bright sunshine, Saturday, 6hrs. lOmins; Sunday, 3hrs. 50mins. Weekly report: Highest maximum shade temperature, 64.6; lowest minimum, 34.2; extreme range, 30.4; rainfall, 1.51 points; frosts, one; bright sunshine, 24hrs. 45mins. Solway.—Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 92 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Government Meteorologist (tfte Rev. D. C. Bates) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday: A storm is reported by radio, on the Tasman Sea. Present indications are for strong north-east to south-east winds; weather dull and misty with rain probable generally and much colder shortly; barometer unsteady, falling and rising again soon.
