COMMITTEE MEETING. j -- - PREPARATIONS POE THE SEASON. (“The Age” Special). The Management Committee of the Wairarapa Itugby Union met at Carterton last evening. Present: Messrs ; • W. G. Lamb (chairman), A. E. Booth, j E. Freeman, A. Johnson, P. Ward, A. : L. Hall, H. T. Tilyard, G. Julian, W. Hart and W. Darvill. In ’regard to a ground at Mart in - borough, the matter of arranging a lease of grounds under offer, was left to the secretary, Messrs Ward and Tilyard. R. J. G. Ward wrote resigning as a delegate to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union, being of opinion that a member of the committee should be the delegate. It was decided that as Mr Ward was elected by the annual meeting he be asked to reconsider his decision. The Tuhirangi Football Club nominated Mr V. Saunders as junior selector. Mr lan Cameron forwarded a donation .of £2 2s to the union’s funds. Donations were received from Mr C. .Smith and Monsignor McKenna £1 Is each. The Masterton Club nominated Air J. Nyhan as junior selector. The Martinborough Football Club nominated Air A. Grimstonc as junior selector. The Hikurangi - College nominated a team for the fourth grade, with the college as their home ground. The Tuhirangi Club nominated a junior team; Carterton Club teams in all grades; Gladstone Club a senior team; Wairarapa High School, third grade, fourth grade, and two fifth grade; Masterton Technical School, one fifth grade; the Opaki Club nominated two teams in the third grade and a fourth grade; the Red Star Club nominated senior, third, fourth and fifth grade .teams. The tender of Air W. E. Knott at £5 was accepted for the programme rights for the season. . Accounts totalling £33 16s 3d were passed for payment. The Masterton Old Boys were admitted as a senior team. Messrs Tilyard and McKenzie were appointed a postponement committee. An allowance of 30s was made to fourth and fifth grade for travelling expenses. No grant was made for third grade, travelling. It was decided that gate staffs remain on duty until games are over. It Was resolved that 15 per cent bo offered to the Featherston Sports Club for use of grounds. It was resolved that the Opaki home ground be Afasterton, and that the Tuhirangi’s home ground be Featherston. It was decided that Tuhirangi travel no further north than Grey town. All posts are to be painted. Classifications: Hemi (Tuhirangi); A. Parker (Greytown); and Ticehurst (Greytown), were reinstated as juniors. Several other applications were held over. The recommendation o£ last season’s junior selector regarding classification was given effect to. SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNEY. Following are the drawings for the seven-a-side tourney: — First round: Carterton B v Gladstone B; Greytown B v Old Boys B; Masterton B v Red Star B; Featherston, a bye; Carterton A v Old Boys A; Gladstone A v Afasterton A; Greytown A v Red Star A.

Junior: Carterton B v Greytown B; Old Boys B v Afasterton B; Opaki v Martinborough B; Featherston v Tuhi rangi; Old Boys v Carterton A; Masterton A v Grey town A; Martinborough A, a bye.
