Masterton.—Mr H. Brown reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 29.80, falling. Shade temperature: Maximum 58.8; minimum, 52.4; terrestrial, 48.4; rain, 1.45; no sunshine.
Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 1.43 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. yesterday. The Government Meteorologist (the Rev D. C. Bates) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday: Present indications are for variable winds, but moderate to strong northerly prevailing and freshening; further dull and misty weather may bo expected with rain general and snow on the higher levels of the South Island; the barometer has a falling tendency. Lighting-up time—s.4s p.m.
