DANNEVTRKE, August 11.—In tM ladies' hockey match for the Lady Carroll Shield, Ruahine, the defenders, who won the Shield at Gisborne last year, defeated Poverty Bay to-day by 6 goals to nil. At half-time the score was 1 to nil. The visitors were lacking in combination.—(P.A.).
