BOWLING.

MASTERTON PARK CLUB. The 10th annual report says the usual club competitions were played, the holders being as foUows:—W.F. C.A. Cup, Pinkney, Braggins, Price, Bell (skip); Daniell Cup, Butcher, C. McEwen Ferns, Pinkney, T. Carr (s); Ewington Pairs, Black, Gibson (s); McEwen Ferns, Pinkney, T. arr (s); Club Pairs, Henry, Faulknor (s); Club Singles, J. Stevens. Several most interesting games were played against the Masterton Club for the Bell Shield, Beale Badges (rinks), and Pointon Badges (pairs), our club holding the Bell Shield arid Pointon Badges. The Grady Medals are also held, Bell and Faulknor (s) having won and held them twice. In the usual Centre games for the Booth Cup and Shield members did not strike form. For the Wairarapa championship singles and pairs, our club were runnefs-up in each, J. Finlayson in the former and Bell and Faulknor the latter.

The New Year tournament was most successful and enjoyable, two rinks getting into the semi-finals, and one—Pinkney, Rowlands,. Bell, Groombridge (a) —into the final, but suffered defeat by the redoubtable rink from Hataitai skipped by R. Bamsay.

The club’s thanks are due to the caretaker (Mr Horton) and his assistants. The green has been thoroughly overhauled, levelled and top-dressed, and should be in good order for the incoming season. There is a very satisfactory .credit of £9 6/2.
