The substantial savings effected in estates adininistered by the Public Trustee are shown in the following reduced scale of commission on the ■ capital of estates when realised:— On. the first £5OOO, 2} per cent On tho next £5OOO, 14 per cent On the next £40,000, 1 .per cent. On excess of £50,000, 2 per cent. assets are transferred in kind the charges are: — On the first £5OOO per cent On the next £5OOO 1 per cent On all in excess of £lO,OOO A per cent. These commission charges cover many services which would have to be paid for separately* if private executor were appointed. The commission charged on rent or in interest on mortgages has been reduced from 5 per cenf to per cent on amounts in excess of £5OO per x annum.
