Shortly after 1 o’clock yesterday, Mrs McNab, while crossing at the Post Office corner, was knocked down by a ear driven by Mr G. Dryden. When he saw Mrs McNab he tried his best to clear her, but she increased her pace suddenly, with the result that the car knocked her down. It was found that she had fortunately sustained no greater injury than a bruised arm and a severe shaking.

In its second venture to obtain a Bishop for the Diocese, the Christchurch Synod has met w(th z partial failure, a member of the clergy in England, whom the, Synod, favoured as a suitable man having refused the offer.
