A.S.R.S. PRESIDENCY.
MR. M. CONNELLY DEFEATED. BY FORMER PRESIDENT. WELLINGTON, March 20.—The ballot papers ia connection with the election of a president of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, ware counted to-day. The candidates are Mr R. Hampton, former president, and Mr M. Connelly, the sitting president. At a late hour the returning officer, Mr W. Nash, announced that Mr Hampton had been elected by a large majority.' There are two small returns yet to come, but these figures cannot affect the result.—(P.A.)
