CRICKET TEST.
NEW ZEALAND v. VICTORIA. DOMTNION TOTAL 226, WELLINGTON, March 2.o.—The first test, Nejr Zealand v. Victoria, commenced td-day in fine weather. New Zealand elected to bat first on a geod wicket- However, they were dismissed for 226 runs. Alloo, who was top-scorer with 51 not out, played a sound and valuable innings, and good fornj was also shown by Worker and Blunt, who batted solidly. Hiddleston commenced well, and the two last batsmen, Dickinson and Meßeath, played brightly. Liddicutt, Wallace and Hartkopf bore the brunt of the attack, and all did well. They were supported by a keen field. Victoria commenced their innings with half an hour to go, but after two overs had been bowled stumps were drawn. New Zealand, Ist innings.
