THE VOLUMNIA.

RETURNED SOLDIERS’ UNION. WILL SEE CARGO THROUGH. SYDNEY, March 18.—A alight hitch occurred during the unloading of the Volumnia. The tally clerks declined to continue work in view of the attitude adopted towards the vessel by the maritime union*. After a little delay four returned soldiers res placed them, and work proceeded. A largely attended meeting of the Trolley, Draymen’a and Motor Drivers’ Union endorsed the action of the Seamen’s Union and Wate raid ore’ Federation in declaring the Volumnia "black.” It was decided not to remove cargo being unloaded by the Returned Soldiers’ Union.

According to an official statement the members of the Returned Soldiers* Union are prepared to meet any exigency. They are determined that no obstacle shall be placed in the way of having the cargo unloaded. If occasion demands they will provide conveyances to remove cargo and man vessels to take the cargo to other States.
