PERSONAL.
Mr and Mrs T. H. Lowry, of Hawked Bay, were visitors to the tennis tour* nament in Masterton yesterday. Mr Horace Hunt, who is now practically convalescent after an opcratioa for appendicitis, passed through Masterton yesterday. Mr Hunt intends spending another fortnight in the country before resuming his profeesional duties. Mrs. lan Mcßae (Masterton) is visiting Wellingtn. Mrs W. Barton (Featherston) has been visiting Wellington. Miss Barbara Williams (Masterton) has been visiting Wellington. Mrs O. H. Beetham (Morland) was a visitor to Wellington for the races. Mrs C. Martin (Martinborough) hit's been to Wellington for the races. Mrs George Hume and Mrs. W. Hume, Featherston) were in Wellington for the races. Miss Edith P. Tennent, daughter of Mr W. J. Tennent of Essex street, who has for some time been assistant matron at the Wellington Hospital, has been appointed matron of the Dunedin Hospital. Miss Tennent entered training at Wellington in 1915, and passed the State examination for nurses in 1919—being awarded highest marks for New Zealand. In 1919 she was appointed sister, and promoted to assistant matron in 1920.
