SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. (Our Travelling Reporter.) A Little Inducement. Appearing on. the notice board at the Greytown, cheese factory is an. appeal. from the staff urging suppliers to deliver their milk before 7 a.m. tomorrow (Christmas Day). As an inducement a gallon of beer is promised to the supplier who reaches the factory first. The staff should get home in time for Christmas dinner. Polo. Weather permitting the Wairarapa Polo Club will open its season at the Martinborough grounds on Saturday. Deserving of Success. One or two of those behind the butter factory project in Carterton had a trying experience last week-end. They had attended a conference at Martinborough, and left it somewhat late in returning home. On reaching the Waiohine bridge they foknd their progress impeded by swirling waters. Nothing daunted, they left the car in a safe spot and waded through the w r ater waist deep. Their appearance at their respective homes in a dripping condition allayed all fears as to their safety. Funeral. The funeral Of the late Mr Thompson took place at the Greytown cemetery yesterday, the cortege being a lengthy one. graveside service was conducted by the Rev. D. McKenzie. Christmas Services. Special Christmas services, are to be held at the Carterton Methodist Church to-morrow night (Christmas Eve).
