SLIGHTLY UNDER . WELLINGTON TIMARU, Doc. 18. — The first South Canterbury wool sale ef the season concluded this morning, a catalogue of 12,173 bales being disposed of. Competition w r as keen for better class wool, particularly, super halfbred, which realised better prices. Bidding throughout the sale was steady, local mills operating freely. ..Prices were slightly under those ruling at the Wellington* sale, The range of prices is as follows:—Merino; medium 27d to 30£d, low 25d to 26|d.
