A NEW JUDGE
MR H. H. OSTLER APPOINTED. It is understood on good authority says the “Evening Post,” that Mr { H. H. Ostler, of Auckland, has been appointed to the Supreme Court Bench. Mr Ostler was born in 1876, a son of Mr W. H. Ostler, a run-holder in the Mackenzie Country, Canterbury. He received his education at Christ’s Hospital, London, and at Victoria College Wellington, and gained hi "-L.B. in 1905. For some time Mr OstTfrr was associate to the Chief Justice, editor of the Law Reports. From 1910 to 1915, he was Crown Solicitor. He was also chairman of the Victoria College Council. Mr Ostler practised for some time in Timaru, and then became a partner in the legal firm of Jackson, Russell, Tanks, and Ostler, in Auckland.
