Present indications are for strong westerly winds backing to southerlies; weather unsettled, cloudy and colder generally, with rain in many parts of the country; barometer unsteady, but rising everywhere soon. Masterton.—Mr R. Brown reported at 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph 29.63. Shade temperature, maximum 81.4, minimum 49.6, terrestrial 34.6, bright sunshine 12hrs 40min.
