FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT.

CHRISTCHURCH WOMAN KILLED LOOSE SHINGLE UPSETS CAR. CHRISTCHURCH, Dee. 15—Mrs Charlotte Jane Torrens, who resided in Christchurch, died in the hospital to-night as the result of concussion and shock due to a motor car, in which she was riding, overturning. The car, which was being driven by Mrs James Murphy, of Fendalton, skidded in some loose shingle on tho road between Lincoln and Ladbrooks. It became unmanageable and overturned and the three occupants wore thrown out. Two escaped injury, but Mrs Torrens was hurt ns described, and died half an hour after admission to the hospital.—(P.A.)
