DALGETY AND CO. SALES.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Mastorton, report on recent sales held in the district as follows:—
At Pahiatua on Tuesday a small entry of sheep was submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was keen, particularly for hoggets and a clearance was affected at the following prices:—Medium hoggets 21/3, m.a. ewe s 24/6; small 2-th ewes 25/10. At Masterton on Wednesday, a couple of lines of wethers were yarded and sold at 30/ and 30/3. On Thursday a clearing sale of live and dead stock was held at Mangamairo on account of the Trustees in the Estate of the late J. WilUs. There was a large attendance of farmers from tho surrounding districts and a very successful sale resulted. The herd of 85 cows, which ineluded several empty cows and late calvers, averaged £5 2/6, and horses and implements realised good prices. Useful farm horses made £5O, 2 at £4O, an aged mare at £7. Cows from £1 to £ll 5/. Implements and sundries sold as follows:— Ploughs £5 lu/ to £11; mower £l3; hay rake £8 10/; roller £18; spring cart £l9; brake £3l; drill £lB 10/; lime sower £2O; and stack of hay £26.
