The principal attraction at Masterton on Saturday will be the meeting of Masterton and Featherston at the Memorial Park. The southern combination, who are making their first appearance in this end of the district, have a particularly strong 15, in fact stronger than for years past, and pitted against the Masterton team at full strength should provide an excellent game. Featherston easily defeated Gladstone, and last week had the best of the game against Grey town, being unlucky to lose the game by a penalty right at the call of time. Rod Stars travel to Carterton where they meet the Gladstone team, and on paper there appears to be little between them. The other senior game is Carterton v. Greytown at Greytown. The other matches at Masterton are: —Red Star juniors v. Pioneer juniors, at 2.45; High School thirds v. Red Star thirds, at 1.30; Y.M.C.A. thirds v. Masterton thirds, at 2.30; Red Star fifths v. Technical School fifths, at 1.15, and High School A fifths v. High School B, at 12 o’clock.
