AMALGAMATION.

HIGH & TECHNICAL SCHOOLS. A REPORT ADOPTED. The report of the conference on the proposed amalgamation of the Waira rt'pa High School and the Masterton Technical School was submitted to the Technical School Managers last night, by the chairman (Mr J. M. Cora dine) and adopted unanimously. The provisions of the scheme are:— 1. There shall be an amalgamation of the W.H.S.B. and the T S.B. 2. The combined governing body shall be designated “The Wairarapa Technical and High Schoo- Board.” 3. There shall be a Principal of the V* .H.S. and a Supervisor < f Technical classes. 4. The Principal shall be the senior advisory officer of the board. 5. The Supervisor of Technical classes shall report direct to the board; but all such reports shall be submitted to the Principal, who may report thereon. 6. In the case of technical classes in new subjects being started or new courses on other than ordinary H.S subjects, the Principal and the Supervisor shall present a joint report. 7. The training of H.S. pupils in the following subjects shall be carried out at the Technical School under the general direction of the Principal, but at the expense of H.S. funds as regards -salaries and working expenses: —(a) Woodwork; (b) metal work; (c) art craft; (d) practical home science, including dressmaking, needlework, cookery, and launMrywork; (e) type writing; (f) other subjects requiring the special rooms and equipment of the Technical School.

8. Wherever possible all classes either at the Technical School or the High School shall be taken by fußtime teachers, and the time-tables shall be arranged with this end in view. 9. The funds of the W.H.S. and the T.S. shall be kept separately. CONSTITUTION OF BOARDS. Exist. Boards Pro.
