MASTERTON ACCEPTANCES. The acceptances lor the Masterton Racing Club’s autumn meeting can be considered highly satisfactory, 72 being received from 85 nominations, against 65 from 82 nominations for the autumn meeting last year. Full acceptances were received for the Trial Stakes and Telephone Handicap, and the Masterton Welter suffered only one defection. Three horses failed to pay up for the Flying Handicap, the most notable absentee being Chimera, the top weight. Two local horses—Merry Day and Vaga-bond—-were allowed to drop out of idle big race, leaving a field of nine. Two from the Juvenile and Stewards’ Handicaps and three from the last race bring the total scratchings up to 13, leaving a card of eight races with 72 starters.
