POPPY DAY.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR APRIL 25. At last night’s meeting of the Committee of the Returned Soldiers’ AsspciaUon, a letter was read from Wellington District R.S.A. (Palmerston North) intimating that the R.S.A. had decided to hold a Poppv Day campaign again this year on lines similar to last year. The poppies are oii the Makura due to arrive m Auckland about March 13, and in a few days allocations ill be made to the various R.S A districts. The proceeds of the sales of poppies are to be devoted towards relief of unemployment amongst returned soldiers by the provision of work, to be undertaken by public bodies, who will subsidise the funds £ for £. It was decided to approach the various committees of ladies who organised the campaign for the sales to do so again this year. The Committee is confident that the public will respond as liberally as in the past, and that poppies will be warn as a memorial flower on Anzac
