CADET TRAINING.
The Defence authorities in the Wainrapa area have had an experience this week upon which they are to be congratulated. Their great difficulty nowadays is to get reg dr;- .it tendances and full parades for cadet training. The weekly or fortnightly parades do not enable the boys to make sufficient progress to become thoroughly interested in the work. Consequently they are poorly attended, and prosecutions for absencejare only too common. During the present week, however, the Waira rapa High School Cadets have inaugurated their training by indulging in a complete week’s work of a progressive nature, which has been thoroughly enjoyed by the bq/s 11 d has err.bled the instructors to 1-rb g them on to an e <- tent which would have been quite ir.i possible by means of weekly or fort rightly parades. The effect on the boys has been very marked, and the contribution to the discipline of the school will be well worth the week devoted to the training.
