CARTERTON SALE. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—At Carterton, on Friday, wc offered a big yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle and pigs to a good attendance. Competition for all classes of sheep was keen, and, with the exception of one pen, we had no difficulty in disposing of our entire entry at price s well above those of the previous Friday. Little demand was shown for cattle, however, and we could get no bids for some steers we offered, but other classes were sold at prices on a par with previous sales. FEILDING SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd., report on their Feilding sale on Friday:—We yarded 2000 sheep, consisting mostly of very good rape iambs and s ome 2-tooth and 4 and 5-year breeding ewes. Competition throughout was keen, and prices showed an appreciable rise on last week’s quotations. Very few fats were yarded, and sold freely. A fair yarding of cattle met with a limited demand. We quote:—Sheep: Fat lambs 19s 6a, rape lambs ll s 6d, 12s 7d, 12s Bd, 13s 6d, 14s, 14s 2d to 15s 2d; 2-tooth ewes 22s 4d to 22s 6d, small do. 14s to 16s 7d, mixed age ewes 12s 8d to 15s, cull ewes 6s td 7s, good 4 and 5year ewes 15s to 16s, medium lls to 13s 6d, forward ewes 10s sd, store lambs (small) 5s 6d, 7s 7d, 8s 4d to 8 S sd, full-mouth Southdown rams £2. Cattle: Aged cows in milk £3 10s to £3 15s, springing heifers to £7 ss; heifers (small) r.w.b. £2, £2 8s to £3 ss, fat* cow s (light) £3 4s to £3 17s 6d, 2-year s teers to £3 14s, cows and calves £2, bulls 25s to 30s; weaner heifer 26s to 355.
