SOUTH MAKES POOR SCORE. Christchurch, March 10.—The North Island v. South Island match was commenced to-day, on Lancaster Park, in fine weather. The wicket was tricky after yesterday’s rain and the bate-men had a very difficult time. South Island battea first and were disposed of for 169, and North had 11 on for no wickets when stumps were drawn for the day. The scores were:— SOUTH ISLAND.—First Innings.
