MUTUAL INSURANCE COMT AN-' . (Official Report.) A meeting of directors of the W.A.A. Mutual Insurance Company was held in the Oddfellows’ H. 1 Greytown, on Monday evening, Mr W. Benton presiding. There were prcsjiit: Messrs F. W. Smith, E E.. O’Neale, H. Buck (Featherston), W. A. Hutton. E. C. Bunny (Greytown), and Davia Smith (Masterton). A credit balance of £23 9s 3d w ieported. Accounts amounting to £33 0s 6d were passed for payment. COMPREHENSIVE POLICY. A lengthy discussion took place regarding the advisability of the company taking up a comprehensive‘policy of insurance.—lt was decided to let the question stand over pending further information. AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION. COMMITTEE MEETING. ’At the conclusion of the directors’ meeting, a meeting of the committee of the Automobile Association was held. There were present: Messrs W. Benton (chair), H. Lawson, F. W. Smith, H. H. Stewart, E. E. O’Neale, in course of preparation. ton, F. C. Bunny, F. Barton (Greytown), David Smith, H. J. Jones (Masterton), and the secretary- (I. V. Wil son). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. Howard Booth, D. B. Carrick, S. M. Baird, A. M. Broadbent, and E. Mclntyre (treasurer). The balances at the Bank were reported as follows:—W.A.A., er., £46 16s 3d; benzine account, cr., £57 12s 4d; trials account, cr. £2O 6s Id; Mutual Insurance Company account, er., £23 9s 3d. Accounts amounting to £54 2s 3d were passed for payment. CORRESPONDENCE. The secretary of the N.Z.A.U. wrote re the Highways Bill.—lt was resolved that the Association support the resolution put forward by the Union. The secretary of the N.Z.A.U. wrote requesting tlje Association to communicate with local bodies in reference tc slow moving traffic. —It was resolved that the local bodies be approached in the terms of the Union’s letter. * A letter was received from a resident in Alfredton pointing out that sign posts were badly needed at the approaches to the Alfredton school.Referred to the Eketahuna branch.
The clerk, Hutt County Council wrote re motors speeding at Plimmerton, and advising that a xby-law w-.s in the course of preparation. Mr Toogood, C.E., wrote stating that the Rimutaka Hill fence was nowcompleted and found satisfactory, an 1 could now be taken over by the Association. GENERAL. Mr C. H. Williams, Kaitoke, am’, the Masterton Implement Company were elected members. It was resolved to ask the Featherston County Council tQ put the Rimutaka Hill fence in order .where affected by the recent road repairs; also to request them to erect a fence at the approach to the bridge near the Featherston dairy factory.
