RIFLE SHOOTING.
CARTER TON CLUB. An all-day shoot was held on the range on. Monday, and proved to be a huge success. Riflemen were present from the principal clubs of the M airarapa. Mr A. D. McLeod, M.P., was on the range most of the day. IMir McLeod, who is an old rifle enthusiast, congratulated the members on the line range they possess, and expressed the hope that they would stick together and help to uphold the good name that the Wairarapa possessed amongst New Zealand riflemen.
The range officer for the day was President H. Marshall, of tire Karori Rifle Club (who is also president of the N.Z. Riflemen’s Association). The weather conditions were not conductive to good shooting. There was a bad mirage and a tricky wind, Following are the scores:— TEAMS MATCH-.
