A DAY'S RECORD. New York, August 6. —An extraoidinary record of one day ’s crimes throughout the country is the following:— Bandits at Hackensack, New Jersey, stole a 40,000-dollar pay roll. Highwaymen at Altamont, Illinois, held up a train and stole 15,000 dollars from the mail car. Kidnappers at Colman, California, abducted the Rev. Patrick Heslin, and arc holding him for 50,000 dollars’ ransom. Robbers stole 15,000 dollars from ;. bank at Long Island, in the city of New York. A sheriff's posse at Cleveland arrested five train robbers in connection with the theft of 50,000 dollars from the mail car during a hold-up of the New York-Pittsburg train.
