ANOTHER LABOUR DEFEAT.
Brisbane, Aug. 4.—At the Mara>n»a by-election to fill the vacancy in the Federal H aise caused by Mr Page’s death, Mr Hunter, the Country Party’s nominee, has established an apparently unassailable lead over the Labourite. labour’s defeat is considered significant in conjunction with the results of the municipal elections.
