AMATEUR THEATRICAL SOCIETY.

RESUMPTION OF OPERATIONS. A well attended meeting of the Masterton Amateur Theatrical Society, held last evening, decided to resume operations again, after a lapse of four years. The funds of the Society are in a healthy condition, and negotiations are being openedi up with the Wellington Operatic Co. with a view to hiring the properties for the forthcoming production. The following provisional commit- ' tee has been elected:—Messrs Jago, Travers, Nicol, Francis, Miller, Iggulden, Vaughan, with Mr Aston as hon. secretary and Mr Spencer Oompton musical director. The Society will commence active practice at an early date. Intending members are asked to communicate with the musical director, or with the hon. secretary, Mr W. Aston, care of Scoullar's.
