AMUSEMENTS

LOUIS ALSACE COMPANY.

Mr Louis Alsace, whose latest company is to appear at the Opera Houso to-morrow evening, Is a gentleman who has for many years been a "star" performer in the best theatres in the world (and this assertion is borne out by press cuttings and photographs). The experience thus gained has been naturally put to the best advantage in selecting a company to tour the Dominion. While the chief aim is to provide healthy, pleasant entertainment, the fact that a variety of tastes must be satisfied has not been lost sight of. Most important of all, the knowledge that the word vaudeville lias been frequently mis-used in describing entertainments that were far from being what, they purported to be, and Mr Alsaee desires it to be known that in not one single action or song is there anything to which the slightest objection can be taken. Humour there is in plenty, it is assured, but nothing of the "slapstick" variety. The entertainment will bo found to be as clean as it is varied and clever. The artists appearing include Meg, the Mighty Atom; the Clarinos (English concertina experts), "Wendy Dale (quaint character commed'enne and dainty dresser), Eileen Barnsley (dramatic soprano), Louis Alsace ("the wizard of the violin"), Wendy and Alphonse ("the digger and the soubrette"), and Mollie King. The local season is Btrictly limited to one night, and seats may be reserved at the Bristol.
