CLEARING SALE,

MARTINEOBOUGH SALE. Tho Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., Stock Department, report having held theii: usual Martinborough sale on Thursday, when they offered a good yarding of sheep and a small one of cattle. Business at auction was not brisk, but we were successful in disposing of the bulk of tho entry at the following prices:—Forward 2-tooth wethers 28s 6d, small do. 23s 6d, ewes and wethers 21s, small w.f. lambs 12s 6d, small b.f. lambs 10s, cowa in calf £6 10s to £7 10a. Messrs Wright, Stephemion, and Co., Ltd. ? report having offered a good yarding of sheep at the Martinborough yards on Thursday. There was good competition, all stock offering selling well up to rebent rates. Quotations: —4 and 6-tooth and f.m, owes 30s Id, fat and forward ewes 25s Gd, forward ewes 21s 3d, wetter lambs 15s 3d to 17s Bd, b,f. lambu 15s 3d to 16s 3d, cull b.f. lambs 12s, m.s. lambs to 16s 6d.

HIDES AND TALLOW. Tho Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., report having hold a hide and tallow sale at Dannevirke on Wednesday, March 17th, 1920. Wo offered a record catalogue of 2000 hides and 1950 calfskins to a goocl attendance of buyers. The bidding throughout was spirited, and good pt;ices were roalised. The tanners were represented and took several of tho leading lines under tho now regulations. We quote tho following prices:—Bulls, prime 15|d to 1G 5-Bd, cut 15s to 16d; kips, prime 22|d to 2.53 d, cut 22£ d to 24d; country cows 21Jd; ox, prime 25d to 27d, cut 23d to 26 l-8d; calf, prime 46d to 502 d, cut 42 5-8 d to 43 7-8 d; slippy 22£ d to 30s, meaty 46d.

CARTERTON SALE. The Wairarapa Farmer it' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., Stock Department, report having held their weekly sale at tho Carterton yards yesterday, when they submitted a fair entry of sheep, cattle and pigs to a fair attendance of the public. They disposed of tho whole yarding with the exception of one pen of ewes, at the following rates:—Sheep: Two-tooth wethors (small) 19s 7d, 2 and 4-tooth ewes (small) 17s 4d, white face lambs (good) 19s 10d, small do. 12s 4d. Oattlo: Fat wethers £ll 10s 6d, fat cows £9 17s, 18-months heifers r.w.b. £7 17s, Btore cows £6 5s to £7 6s; weaner calves 19s, 265, 27s and 28s, 18months steers £3 9s, empty heiferß £3 16s, bulls £7 5s to £8 7s 6d.
