RUSSIAN SITUATION.
BOLSHEVIKS AND UKRAINE " (Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Last Night, 8.20 o'clock.) V , LONDON. February 4. Reuter states that some light is thrown on the obscure situation at Ukraine by the speecFT of a representative of the Rada at the Brest Litovsk Conference. He stated that ninety per cent of the Rada's candidates were elected to the Constituent Assembly, compared with ten per cent of the Bolshevik candidates. , The Ukrainian Convention of Soviets at KiefF overwhelmingly declared for the Rada, whereupon a small group of Bolsheviks went to Kliarkoff and declared itself the new Government of Ukrainian, the People's Republic, though they hardly represented the town of Kharoff, much less the Republic.
